The Municipality of Anchorage commissioned a visibility study comparing detection distances between LED, Induction, and High Pressure Sodium luminaires. The study was managed by the Municipality of Anchorage, data was collected by Virginia Technology Transportation Institute, and designed by Continuum's strategic partner Clanton & Associates. The collaboration between luminaire manufacturers, university researchers, and a premier lighting design firm produced new information on glare, detection of small objects, and energy efficiency potential when combining LED or Induction technologies with demand response lighting control systems.
